Ratchet rings wear out over time especially if ridden in competition or in inclement weather. A worn ratchet ring can cause the pawls to fail to engage or to slip under load.
They are made of Scandium for extra hardness.
Novatec 27T Threaded Ratchet Rings fit several Novatec hubs but primarily 8/9/10spd road hubs and the F482SB-10/11 road hub series. They are compatible with Shimano/Sram freehubs or Sram XD or Sram XD-R Drivers.
